INTRODUCTION
At the Gates of the First Horizon
The Kingdom Where Beginnings Are Born
Once upon a time, at the edge of a land forgotten by maps, a shoreline met the ocean as it had since time immemorial. Waves told the rocks stories of distant countries; the wind carried salt and the secrets of lost sailors. Clouds crossed the vast sky like white ships sailing into the unknown. People said that every morning this coast made the world begin anew. Cliffs regained their colours, birds resumed their dance, and the sea erased yesterday’s traces. Nothing was ever quite the same, for the ocean never repeated a movement. It was a place both ancient and forever new.
The First Mark on Canvas
One day, far from that imagined shore, a few colours were placed beside a blank canvas. An open book offered a lesson in painting a seascape: building a sky, giving depth to the ocean, and raising cliffs above the waves. The steps were explained, but the medium still held its mysteries. Acrylic paint, quick to dry, required a lively rhythm of observation and decision. The canvas itself was unfamiliar ground, receiving the colours of an adventure whose future could not yet be imagined. As the first waves took shape, another horizon quietly opened between eye, hand and painted surface.
THE STORY
The Song of the First Waves
The Sky of a Thousand Promises
Above the ocean stretches a luminous sky. Turquoise blues mingle with softer azure, while white clouds drift like mountains of vapour or the sails of an invisible fleet. A few birds cross the open air, small notes on a silent score. Light passes through the clouds, illuminating some places and leaving others in blue shadow. This sky does more than overlook the scene: it gives the landscape breath. In the kingdom of beginnings, every cloud carried a promise and every bird announced a new possibility.
The Sea That Challenges the Cliffs
Below the sky, the ocean displays its strength. Deep blue and turquoise waters approach the coast in successive waves, breaking into white foam. The sea seems determined to conquer the rocks, which answer with silent resistance. On the right, cliffs rise in warm browns, coloured greys and reddish earth tones; green vegetation crowns their heights. A narrow ochre shore leads the eye into the distance. Sea and stone, movement and endurance, sky and earth enter a dialogue: each element needs the others for the landscape to become whole.
The Secret of the First Wave
Legend says that at the beginning of the world the ocean lay perfectly still, reflecting the cliffs like an eternal mirror. Then the wind descended from the mountains and touched the water. A first wave appeared, timid and almost imperceptible. Reaching the rocks, it discovered that it could break into a thousand flashes of light. It returned stronger, followed by every wave that would ever cross the seas. This legend lives in the painting. Its acrylic strokes reveal the tentative energy of discovery. The picture began as an exercise, yet it preserves something no model can teach: the moment when someone first learns to make an entire horizon appear upon a canvas.

CONCLUSION
The Dawn of a World Yet to Be Invented
When the Ocean Grows Quiet
As the eye travels across the scene, the waves seem to quieten. Birds continue their journey, clouds drift toward the horizon, and the cliffs regain their majestic stillness. The blues of the sea answer those of the sky, the white foam echoes the clouds, and warm earth tones anchor the view. This is more than an imagined place where land meets water. It preserves the memory of a threshold crossed, when the unknown becomes familiar and discovery turns into the desire to continue.
The Alpha, the Promise of the First Day
Alpha is the first letter, the sign that begins all that remains to be written. This name seems made for the painting. Sea, cliffs and luminous sky remember a first beginning: the first composition painted upon canvas. Acrylic was the medium of that encounter, before later experiments opened other artistic horizons. The work promised no certain destination, only the possibility of what might follow. Like the first wave of the legend, that initial gesture would be followed by many others. The Alpha is therefore not merely a seascape: it marks the fragile, decisive encounter between a blank canvas and the desire to create. Before every journey comes a first step; before every ocean of colour, a first wave.
